Born on the 15th of August 1990, Joel Camilleri grew up in the western suburbs of Melbourne and is a Professional Boxer and Secondary School Teacher (Qualified in Physical Education, Health and Psychology).

A very driven individual, who at the age of 15 walked into a Kickboxing/Muay Thai gym where for 18 months he trained as a fighter. At the age of 16 and a half, Joel made the switch to Boxing.

16 amateur fights later, Joel and his then trainer decided it was time to make the transition to professional boxing and has since had his eyes set on one day achieving his dream of becoming a World Champion.

In 2018 Joel won the Super-Welterweight Victorian Title and also the WBC Asian Boxing Council Welterweight Title, earning him the number 2 ranking in Australia in the Welterweight Division.

In 2019 Joel won the Australian Super-Welterweight Title, earning him the number 4 ranking in Australia and number 78 in the World in the Super Welterweight Division.

In 2021 Joel won the WBC Australasia Super Welterweight Title, earning him the number 7 ranking in Australia and number 78 in the World in the Super Welterweight Division.

Joel now resides in Brisbane and is trained by Dundee Kim at Brisbane Boxing Gym (Dundee’s Body & Fitness).
